Paul Quinlan's Swim Coaches Toolbox
Paul Quinlan, M.App.Sc has been a coach in the sport of swimming for more than fifty years. He is a nationally accredited Level 3 coach in his country, where he served for a decade as the Australian Director of Swimming Coaching.
In the prime of his career he was appointed coach of a national team for an overseas tour. His training as a physical educational teacher and top junior competitor in track led him down the path of sports science and statistical streams, in a sport he was introduced to inhis early professional life.
Paul Quinlan was a prime motivator in the establishment of a professional association for his peer group at state and national level. In more recent times he was a founder vice-president of the now succesful World Swimming Coaches Association (WSCA).
The wide range of experiences and knowledge of the scientific and statistical aspects of swimming have been collated in software package to promote a greater understanding of our sport, and to assist those involved to go about their work-a-day tasks, be it in the pool, on the deck, in the boardroom or the laboratory, with the power of the computer to assist them. Paul was also a manager of the Austalian Institute of Sport Swimming Programs, where his duties included statistical evaluation of performances, comparative and strategic analysis.
Paul has been joined by world renowned sports scientists and coaches, among them the late Cheryl Maglischo Ph.D., Coach Ernie Madlischo Ph.D, and Coach Rod Havriluk Ph.D., President of Swimming Technology Research, in bringing this software package to our sport.
